Additional personal data that we process
In order to be able to carry out our mediation as well as possible, we record additional information about our participants which may help us to increase the chances of success of the language coaching process. This concerns, for example, preferences of our participants to engage in a coaching relationship, but never specific information such as religion, medical data or ethnicity
Reason why we process your personal data
Wereldbuur processes your personal data, after having obtained permission from you, for the following purposes:
- To mediate between those who request language help and the volunteer who is willing to offer this help.
- To guide and support language volunteers during the language coaching process.
- To be able to fulfill our accountability towards the municipality of Amsterdam.
For how long do we store your personal data
Wereldbuur stores your personal data until the goals have been realized for which your data has been collected. We use a retention period of up to 4 years after the person concerned has unsubscribed from Wereldbuur. This history enables us to identify repeated requests for a language coach from the same person for non-valid reasons (at the discretion of Wereldbuur).
Sharing your personal with third parties
Wereldbuur does not sell your details to third parties and will only provide these if this is necessary for the execution of our agreement with you. In this context, we provide personal data to the municipality of Amstelveen due to our accountability of subsidy funds.
Cookies, or similar techniques that we use
Wereldbuur uses an external party to keep the website operational. Wereldbuur uses on its website only technical cookies and analytical cookies that do not infringe on your privacy. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you first visit our website. The cookies we use are necessary for the technical operation of the website and for the production of aggregated statistics on the use of the website. Make your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and Citizen Service Number (BSN) black in this copy. This is to protect your privacy. We respond to your request as quickly as possible, within four weeks maximum.

How we protect your personal data
Wereldbuur takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorized modification.
